Buhari, Atiku Rejoice With Akpa On Installation As Ata Igala

President Muhammadu Buhari has joined Government and people of Kogi in rejoicing with the Ata Igala, Matthew Akpa, on his installation as Ata Igala, bringing a wealth of experience to the throne of his fathers.

In a statement by his spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina, on Thursday in Abuja, the president felicitated the Kogi State Traditional Council,  kingmakers,  sons and daughters of Igala nation on the historic event.

According to the president, this has further highlighted the rich culture and tradition of the people.

The president urged the traditional ruler to dedicate himself to the growth and well being of his people, and support the government in promoting peace, unity and progress, especially in civic responsibilities.

Buhari prayed that almighty God would guide the royal father in the discharge of his duties, particularly in encouraging  strong moral values and respect among the youth.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has also felicitated with the government and people of Kogi State, on the installation of Matthew Akpa as the new Ata of Igala.

In a congratulatory message issued on Thursday in Abuja, Abubakar described the investiture as a new beginning.

He said that the occasion was “timely and of immense importance, going by the pride of place of Igala people in Nigeria.”

He added that the new traditional ruler had all the leadership attributes to sail the ship of his people to a fruitful destination.

“The new Attah of Igala is remarkably versatile, knowledgeable, equitable and experienced in human management and sustaining ancestral cultural heritage.

“He is capable of fusing innovation with tradition and creating a conducive atmosphere for genuine peace, progress and development.”
