Some of the lawmakers include Odefa Obasi Odefa, Victor Chukwu, Kingsley Ikoro,  Joseph Ununu, Nkemka Okoro, among others.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Justice Ekwo had, on Jan. 19, fixed today for the judgment in the suit filed by the PDP against the governor and his deputy.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that before the sack of the Ebonyi lawmakers that the court had earlier sacked Governor Dave Umahi and his deputy over their defection from the PDP on whose platform they were elected to the APC.

Justice Inyang Ekwo who gave the judgment held that the 393, 042 votes garnered by Umahi in the March 9, 2019 governorship election in Ebonyi state, belonged to the PDP and same could not be legally transferred to the APC by the process of defection.

He as such asked the PDP to immediately provide new nominees to fill the two positions or in the alternative that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to conduct a fresh election to fill the vacancies created by the defections.
