Ebele Obiano slaps Bianca Ojukwu

Drama ensued on Thursday at the inauguration of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as the governor of Anambra when wife of outgoing Gov Willie Obiano, Ebelechukwu engaged Mrs Bianca Ojukwu in a fight at the event.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the fight between the two women occurred immediately after Soludo took his oath of office.

NAN reports that dignitaries including Ex Gov Obiano were already seated when Mrs Obiano stepped in and moved to the front row where the widow of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu was seated and taunted her asking her why she came having earlier said that she would boycott APGA events.

Bianca who according to multiple sources is normally a cool lady stepped up and slapped her.

The action drew the attention of security agents and some personalities who pulled Mrs Obiano off the hold of Bianca who was visibly shocked at the action.

Mrs Obiano was later taken away and shortly afterwards, her husband left the venue since the incident happened after the new governor had been sworn in. (NAN)

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Bianca Ojukwu and the Obiano family had been engaged in a faceoff over the years after the widow of the Biafran leader had accused Obiano of abandoning the APGA legacy and her husband’s legacy but repeatedly invoking the name of Ojukwu during election campaigns.

Following her husband’s two terms as governor, Mrs Ebele Obiano according to multiple sources has set her eyes on the Senate to represent Anambra North Senatorial District.

Meanwhile, Professor Charles Soludo took his oath office as governor of Anambra State with his wife and children gathered around him at the Agu-Awka Government House, Awka.

Before he climbed up to take the oath administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, the new governor bowed twice to his predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano who mobilized the political machine that brought the new governor to office.

Soludo was preceded by his deputy, Dr Onyekachi Ibezim, who took the oath with his wife beside him.

Following the ceremony, Soludo led the former governor, Obiano out of the Government House and thereafter inspected a guard of honour mounted by the police.

The event which was promised to be a somber event restricted to not more than 50 persons, however, saw a turnout of a multiple of the estimated invitees.

Among those present were Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and some Anambra multibillionaires including Sir Emeka Offor and Chief ABC Orijakor.

A notice on the inauguration eve from the Soludo camp informing that it would be a somber event said:

“Please note this event is strictly low key and devoid of the usual merry-making and unbridled celebrations usually associated with occasions of this nature

“The Governor-elect however remains grateful to everyone for the outpouring of goodwill messages as well as the continuous support from well-wishers and numerous supporters within and across the globe.”
