Five Things That Cause Big Tummy

To maintain a flat stomach involves some dos and don’ts and getting acquainted with the things that cause one to have a big tummy. Here are five reasons why a person may have a big tummy.

Eating unhealthy food

If you keep eating a lot of processed foods, or foods high in carbohydrates and drinking a lot of soda and alcohol then your flat tummy goal is just a pipe dream. Eating late doesn’t   mean you will gain weight, if you eat some fruits before you sleep, you are less likely to gain weight than if you eat eba or jollof rice.

Stress

Stress releases a hormone called cortisol, when a person is in a dangerous or high-pressure situation, their body releases cortisol and this affects their appetite and metabolism.

When your gene does not have flat tummy

It is true that genes have been linked to the chances of being obese, even if behaviour plays a role too.

So even if you are genetically predisposed to being fat and growing a big tummy, you don’t have to throw in the towel and accept fate, you can develop healthy habits that may well cause you to suppress the full manifestation of the big tummy.

Lack of body exercise

Some people have a natural flat tummy but can grow big when they are sedentary and refuse to exercise. It is believed that spot exercising that is focusing on just one part of your body doesn’t work.

Exercising generally will help you lose weight. So do cardio (run and jog), push-ups, and lift weights. Get up and move your body.

  Bloated without fat

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) or Peptic Ulcer Disease, or you are lactose intolerant or always feel constipated, you will always feel bloated. To remedy this, add a lot of fiber like fruits, beans and vegetables to your diet and stay clear of sugars and starch.
