Anambra North: Why Senator Oduah Is Panicking – Nwoye’s Supporter

The third term Senate aspiration of Senator Stella Oduah appeared under threat on Thursday after Dr Tony Nwoye, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Anambra State was cleared to contest the Anambra North Senate seat by the party’s screening committee.

Besides Dr. Nwoye a number of prominent political actors from Anambra North have indicated interest to stop the third term bid by Oduah.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that no one has ever represented the Senatorial district in the Senate for three terms.

The special interest in the Anambra North Senate seat in the forthcoming election besides the third term bid by Senator Oduah is also being drawn by the aspiration of the immediate past First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs Ebele Obiano who, however, is making her bid on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Following the successful screening of Dr Nwoye by the PDP screening committee, a supporter of Dr Nwoye, Paschal Candle accused the Oduah camp of apprehension.

He said that apprehensive of the grassroots strength of Nwoye, a medical doctor turned politician and businessman, that Oduah’s aides immediately after the screening commenced propagation of fake news about him.

“Ordinarily I would not have wasted my time in replying to this baseless and figment of imagination of Senator Stella Oduah, but for the sake of the general Public who the writer intend to deceive with the fake news

Noting the missive by someone he claimed was an aide of Senator Oduah propagating fake news against Dr. Nwoye, Mr Candle said:

“There was no petition whatsoever before PDP screening Committee when Dr Tony NWOYE appeared before the panel.

“This writeup by Senator Stella Oduah is her own wishful thinking and reveals her plot to become candidate through the backdoor without contest because she has no credible account of her 8 years stewardship in National Assembly .

“Senator Stella Oduah who is looking for somebody to cite for fraudulent actions is the one who is standing trial for stealing over #7.9 billion naira at Federal High court Abuja by EFCC. She should bury her head in shame and remove the wood in her eyes before looking for someone else.

“For avoidance of doubt, Dr Tony Nwoye has been cleared to contest senate election for Anambra North by the screening committee of PDP.”
