Why I crowned my Kano queen - Oluwo

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has crowned his newly-wedded wife, Princess Firdauz Abdullahi, as Queen.

The love-struck Oba Akanbi explained his decision to his 151 thousand Instagram followers on Wednesday evening.

He shared a loved-up photograph of his sweetheart whom he married from the Ado Bayero dynasty.

“Every Queen Deserves A Crown. My Great Progenitor ODUDUWA taught me to love my Queen by Crowning her and that’s why Olokun the wife of ODUDUWA was Crowned!

“King Telu loves Queen Firdauz and he crowned her,” the controversial monarch wrote.

The Royal Wedding between the Oluwo and Queen Firdauz was held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the residence of the Madakin Kano, Yola Quarters, Kano.

Before the royal wedding, there were controversial reports that the monarch reportedly demanded the sum of two million naira from Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State for the ceremony.

“I wish to remind your Excellency that the kind of royal wedding within two notable traditional institutions in Nigeria will require huge expenses, which necessitate the support of the state government financially even logistically.

“Moreover, the estimated amount for the event is above N20,000,000. His Excellency, Oba Akanbi relies on you for necessary consideration and approval on this request,” the letter dated February 8, 2022, partly read.

However, the monarch, who in 2019, divorced his estranged wife, Chanel Chin, with whom he shares a son named Oduduwa, denied sending the letter.
