Sharp Reactions Trail Abduction, Beheading Of Anambra Lawmaker

The news of the abduction and later beheading of Hon Okechukwu Okoye, a lawmaker in Anambra State has gripped the polity causing Governor Chukwuma Soludo to offer a N10m reward for information that will track the culprits. 

Recall that, Okechukwu Okoye, the lawmaker representing Aguata Constituency 2 in the Anambra State House of Assembly and his campaign director, Cyril Chiegboka, were recently abducted in Aguata on Saturday.

On Saturday, six days after the kidnap, the lawmaker’s head was dumped at Chisco park in Amichi, a community in Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state and his body was also found in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.

The social media space has been boiling with comments after a video of the incident surfaced.

While many opined that the constant attacks in the Southeast is deliberate move to distort Peter Obi’s presidential ambition in the region, many others pointed accusing fingers at IPOB.
