Nigerians have taken to their social media handles to give reactions to reports that former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, on Thursday, approached a Federal High Court for another bail plea.

According to reports, Kyari and three of his co-defendants, through their counsel, pleaded with Justice Emeka Nwite to grant them bail with claims that they are in grave danger at the Kuje Correctional Centre, where there are being remanded.

At a resumed hearing, Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, counsel to Kyari and suspended ACP Sunday Ubia, disclosed that an application was filed seeking bail for the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th defendants and sent to the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency.

According to him, the application was necessary considering the nature of the work the defendants had done in the course of policing the country.

Ikpeazu said the defendants were being remanded in the same correctional centre with criminals who through them, their arrests were made possible thus putting their lives at great danger.

This report has since sparked numerous reactions from social media users.
