Abaribe APGA Senate ticket

Senator Enyinninya Abaribe has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for the Abia South Senate seat and will use the ticket to fight off the incumbent governor of the state, Dr Okeize Ikpeazu in the main election.

Abaribe emerged as the candidate of  APGA for the Senate seat after he emerged unopposed in the primary election conducted on Saturday evening in Aba.

Speaking immediately after the poll, Abaribe vowed that he would use the position if re-elected to the Senate to lead from the front to liberate and reposition Abia.

He also advised Ndigbo to coalesce in APGA in the face of current political realities in Nigeria.

“From today I will lead in the front to liberate our State from the malaise of godfatherism and maladministration, which remains the bane of her development.

“APGA will surely take over the reigns of governance of this state in 2023”, he said.

Mr Lucky Erondu was the returning officer of the election, monitored by INEC and a crowd of party faithful and enthusiastic youths that literally mobbed the popular Senator in Admiration.

Abaribe won the APGA Senate ticket at the party primaries that was conducted along Okigwe Road, Aba

GWGNG reports that Abaribe who had been a member of the PDP from its first days was forced to leave the party and his position as Senate Minority Leader after alleged political manipulations by the PDP that put the list of delegates in the hands of the governor.

Governor Ikpeazu who emerged as the PDP Senate candidate for the same seat will now contest against Abaribe in the main election next year.
