The Nigerian political landscape was reverberating with expectations at the weekend after Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso confirmed that he was in talks with Peter Obi in merger talks ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The prospect of such a merger which could dramatically alter the permutation of political forces in the country was at the weekend exciting social media supporters of the increasing challenge to the mainstream political parties, the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Supporters of Mr Obi and Kwankwaso were enthused at the weekend with suggestions that their principals could ultimately upturn the dominance of the PDP and the APC.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG gathered some of the reactions of the supporters of the men who identify themselves as OBI-dient and KWAN-cerned Nigerians.

They way Nigerians are expecting the marriage between Labour Party and NNPP is an indication that we do not hate ourselves. Nigerians know the strength in unity. For years, PDP and APC benefit from our disunity.

I sincerely pray for Peter Obi /Kwankwaso merger so deeply because it will unite Igbos and hausas after 7 years of bigotry and ethnic tension created by Buhari and APC government. Uniting Nigerians is the first call #ObiKwaso Presidency. #PeterObi2023

Are we really gonna see a Peter Obi and Kwankwaso merger #ObiKwaso become a reality, cos that’s really a very good combination that will shake both the APC and PDP.

Did you know that Peter Obi’s $20 million investment in Anambra is worth $100 million today? We don’t grow big to manage well. We manage well to grow big. Peter Obi has shown faithfulness in little. For this and more, he’s easily the best man for the job. #ObiKwaso lokan
