Students Expelled For Protesting Insufficient Laboratory Equipment

Six students of Government Day Secondary School Salihu Dogo in Jalingo, Taraba state, have reportedly been expelled after leading a protest in the school.

According to reports, the students, yet to be identified protested against corruption within the school’s management over basic amenities and equipment required for their laboratories.

The protest took place last Wednesday in front of the principal’s office as they demanded basic needs for student use.

”Science class we don’t even have a lab. Science class we have never taken practical. See Biology, Physics, Chemistry, no lab. No seat. You will be standing.

How would you even listen to the lectures that they are teaching. You will not even understand even one thing.” a student stated in the viral video trending online.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Government has designated Friday, June 24, 2022, a work-free day in order to give civil servants who have not yet picked up their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) the opportunity to do so three weeks before the gubernatorial election. The holiday follows agitations by many to be registered to partake in the forthcoming General Election.
