Rivers Deputy Governor: Nkechi Blessing Slams Jealous Women Dragging Tonto Dikeh

Controversial Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has taken to her Instagram handle to defend her co-actress, Tonto Dikeh while drumming support for her bid to be the next deputy governor of Rivers State.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that on Friday, June 24, Tonto Dikeh had taken Nigerians by surprise as she announced her nomination as the running mate to Tonte Ibraye, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC Rivers State.

Tonto who urged her fans to get their PVCs, listed out the things she would be focusing on during her time in power.

“I THANK MR TONTE IBRAY, THE GOVERNSHIP CANDIDATE OF THE AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (ADC) RIVERS STATE FOR NOMINATING ME AS HIS RUNNING MATE. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO INVESTING MASSIVELY IN SOCIAL PROTECTION, CREATING A SOCIAL VALUE SYSTEM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, INCREASED WOMEN INCLUSION IN OUR GOVERNANCE SYSTEM SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES AND STRENGTHENING OUR TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS TO BE ACTIVE PLAYERS IN THE DRIVE TO BRING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF RIVERS STATE. While many took to the comment section to celebrate the screen diva over her achievement, others decided to criticize her.

Reacting to the critics, Nkechi Blessing blasted Nigerians for criticising Tonto Dikeh despite asking for change. 

According to her, majority of the trolls were women who are jealous of the actress’s new feat.

Showing her support for Tonto Dikeh’s bid to be deputy governor, Nkechi Blessing affirmed that she is the type of woman who would support her gender at all cost.
