Police Waste Armed Bandits In Delta

Some armed bandits believed to be terrorizing the Warri Garage, Lower Erejuwa Road  and environs in  Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State met their waterloo as they were  gunned down by the police in the afternoon on Thursday, 30th June, 2022.

Initial report had it that three of the alleged hoodlums, said to be notorious, were earlier gunned down by the police men, described as no nonsense.

Two of the hoodlums were later wasted in their hideouts in Sam Warri Street by the said crack police team from Police ‘B’ Warri.

The invading police team recovered some cut to size guns, live ammunition and long sharp daggers from the hideouts of the alleged bandits that had troubled the Warri, Delta State residents.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Delta State Police Headquarters, Asaba DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, some members of Erejuwa Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association, residents of Sam Warri Street, Ope Street, Old Welfare Street, Radio Road, Ometan Street, Enamejewan Street and Warri Garage area were seen rejoicing over the deaths of the hoodlums when our correspondent arrived the area.

They celebrated the gallantry of the police men. The jubilant traders and residents believed that with the police action, security and peace will be restored in the area.

However, some of them who spoke to our correspondent under the condition of anonymity, urged the police in Delta to sustain their action against the bandits.

Few weeks before his death, one of the dead hoodlums was said to have robbed a lady, an engine oil seller, stabbing her severally in one her hands and thereafter carted away her android phone and huge sum of money in the early evening of the fateful day.

The hoodlums were said to have attacked worshippers in a church in the Ginuwa area and made off with handsets, monies and other valuables of their victims the Sunday before their encounter with the police.
