Ronaldo Chelsea move

Chelsea may be at the front of the queue to sign wantaway Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar has informed his employers at Old Trafford that he would like a move this summer to ensure he is able to play Champions League football next season. The request had sparked a transfer scramble among Europe’s top clubs, although Chelsea may have the advantage.

It is understood that Ronaldo wants to play Champions League football next season as he thinks he only has “three or four years” left at his peak.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Napoli have all registered an interest in signing the Portuguese superstar from United this summer. But Thomas Tuchel’s side look to be the frontrunners giving that new owner Todd Boehly wants to make a huge statement in the transfer market.

A deal with Bayern could involve Robert Lewandowski, although he is said to prefer a move to Barcelona. And that would surely leave Chelsea above Napoli in Ronaldo’s list of potential destinations. However, a move to London now seems to be on the card for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, as he seems to bolster his chances of remaining at the epitome of world football.
