Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Aisha Yesufu Leads Attack On Second-Class Citizen Keyamo
Civil rights activist, Aisha Yesufu was on Monday leading the attack on Festus Keyamo, SAN mocking him for accepting second class citizen status in his country with his vocal defence of the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Aisha Yesufu’s attack came following a series of tweets by Keyamo in defence of the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket announced by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported Keyamo, the minister of state, Labour had Productivity as flaying the sentiments he said were brought by religious leaders against the decision of Tinubu to run with a fellow Muslim in the 2023 presidential election.
Affirming that development is not brought about by religious balancing, Keyamo, who had in his years before joining government been reputed nationally for his civil rights activism, said:
“There’s no country in the world where history tells us that its development was as a result of ‘balanced’ presidential tickets (in terms of religion) over the years; countries developed as a result of visionary leadership and not because they pandered to some religious sentiments.”
The position taken by Keyamo on the Muslim-Muslim ticket was flayed by several on the social media platform, twitter with Aisha Yesufu taking a swipe at the minister.
Noting the way the Muhammadu Buhari administration has ranked its ministers with Keyamo despite his well applauded ratting in judicial activism and advocacy being relegated by a less fancied Abubakar Malami, SAN, Aisha Yesufu said:
Aisha Yesufu @AishaYesufu
They told you that you are a second class citizen and you believed it. You now justify why you should be a second class citizen. They made you Minister of State for labour while a less competent Malami was made Attorney General. Kanye West was right. Many choose to be slaves!

I thought you had honour. Honourable people like Daniel Bwala have shown the extent of their conviction. I regret your descent a lot because we had loved you in your youth. It’s just unfortunate!

Nigeria hasn’t gotten to the level of either UAE or USA yet. We are more polarised along tribal and religious lines and for same reason, the Federal Character principle was introduced in 1979 to ensure there is equity & balance in representation of people from diverse background
ORDAINED @ordained07
How easy it is to lie about our peculiarity and temperament as a nation. Study your environment philosophers say and make decisions that best fit your environment but here is Mr Keyamo making the most ridiculous comparison. Why not ship your laws and institution to work like U.S.A

My question to you is: Will the North support a Christian-Christian ticket. Even if we put forward 2 Obama’s – This is the question. Nigeria is not Dubai or USA (Dubai and USA don’t have the amount of Christians and Muslim we have in Nigeria). Your analogy doesn’t have water.

People who only shine & benefit directly from Crises with utter disregard to National feelings are championing this Islam Ticket for all Nigerians. This is a Country where fellow country-men are referred to as infidels. This is the beginning. It would get to All Northern Ticket.

The dynamics that tolerated a Muslim-Muslim ticket in 1993 no longer exist in Nigeria of 2022, and with free and fair elections, it may be very difficult to reconstruct those same dynamics with any real hope of success as the country heads to the 2023 presidential elections.
However, amid the attack on Keyamo led by Aisha Yesufu on his position on the Muslim-Muslim ticket, there was some respite for the minister as one twitter user, Salisu A. Mohammed Masun Zazzau @salimoh0, came to his aid saying:
We are ALL hypocrites! When u go to a hospital, do you care what religion is the doctor or a pilot on a plane and even the cook at a restaurant or even a babe at a club!!! Do we care what religion is are teachers or lecturers???
