Mr Daniel Bwala, a top aide of Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has quit his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) apparently in the wake of the party’s decision on a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Bwala who is Special Adviser to Omo-Agege, Constitutional Matters is in charge of the Constitutional Amendment brief in the office of the DSP. He was not available on Monday morning to give further brief on his decision.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Bwala, who has been a very articulate and persuasive debater for the APC especially on the television circuit said he was leaving the party based on the principles and convictions he holds dear to him.

Bwala in a tweet:

“Tonight I officially resigned my membership of @OfficialAPCNg on principles and conviction that I hold so dear. At this time of our national existence, our efforts and energy should gravitate towards uniting our people,” Bwala tweeted.

Bwala perhaps on account of his robust defence of the APC in legal matters on the television circuits was was being reported in some media circles as the National Legal Adviser of the party.

Bwala, a Christian from Adamawa State had in the past aspired to vie for the Senate but was not successful.

A source close to him told GreenWhiteGreen GWG

“I called him this morning to console him but he was not picking, but you can understand him. How can you say that in the whole North you cannot find a Christian to run with you. I can tell you, he is one of the first, many Christians will walk too.

“I don’t know how in this country that they are kidnapping Reverend fathers anyhow and you are coming up with a Muslim-Muslim ticket. There is no argument that can convince anyone, and I don’t know how I am go to canvass for this Muslim-Muslim ticket,” a senior operative of the APC told GreenWhiteGreen GWG following the decision of Bwala to quit from the APC.
