President Buhari passed the order on Tuesday following briefings from relevant government Ministries, Agencies and Departments involved in the matter.

Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), had kicked off a one month warning strike on February 14, and other unions also joined as the federal government failed to meet up with their demands.

President Buhari summoned the meeting on Tuesday to be briefed by his aides on why the strike has lingered for too long.

The President after hearing from the relevant MDA’s directly involved ordered the Minister of Education to ensure that the impasse was resolved within two weeks and report back to him.

This report has stirred numerous reactions from social media users especially among Nigerian students.
