Former Kaduna North Central Senator, Shehu Sani has taken to his social media handle to react after the terrorists who abducted the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers months ago threatened to kidnap and kill President Muhammadu Buhari.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG earlier reported that terrorists on Sunday shared a video where they issued threats to kidnap and kill President Muhammadu Buhari.

The threat is coming a few weeks after the convoy of an advance team of the president was attacked on its way to Buhari’s hometown of Daura, Katsina, ahead of Sallah.

In a video which surfaced online, the terrorists said they will abduct and kill Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.

The terrorists further threatened to kill the remaining victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack in their custody and sell out the others.

Reacting indirectly to the threats, Senator Sani via his Twitter page on Sunday morning said time is of the essence for the government to act.

According to Sani, terrorists have in most cases succeeded in their operations, held victims captive and only released them when a ransom is paid.

He added that the terrorists’ aim from the latest video they posted was to wage a psychological war to draw the attention of the government to their demands.

Sani’s tweet read: “When terrorists post video clips of the torture of their victims, they are waging a psychological war to bring attention to their demands. We don’t have a thick forest in the North West to warrant four months of this ordeal. Time is of the essence for the Government to act now.

“There have never been any successful rescue operations for most mass kidnappings of students, farmers or passengers in Kaduna, other than ransom payments by families. That is why the terrorists in the video called the committee set up by the Government as “Tea drinking committee.

“The video clip of the torture of Kaduna-bound train hostages followed the same pattern with that of the Federal College of Agric mechanisation Kaduna. The difference was that women were spared. They are sending a message. The options remain two; free them or negotiate for their release.”
