President Goodluck Jonathan has been monitoring the presidential election in Kenya weeks after apparently escaping the trap of defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC to contest the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that after almost ten years of President Uhuru Kenyatta leading the East African country during two terms, that the nation is looking forward to a seamless transfer of power.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to step down after the election is concluded due to term limits.

Veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga and current Deputy President William Ruto are the two front-runners to succeed him.

Kenyatta fell out with Ruto and has endorsed Odinga

Kenyatta and Ruto faced charges at the International Criminal Court over their alleged role in the violence that followed an earlier election but the cases were later dropped.

President Jonathan who is celebrated in Nigeria and the world over for his democratic inclinations and has won a reputation for leading election monitors in Africa is again doing the same job in Kenya.

Few months ago there were fears that the hard earned reputation that President Jonathan has earned could be hurt after it was reported that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC was trying to lure him to contest for the presidency. Jonathan, however, demurred and has continued to fly in the international community.
