Anambra born multi-billionaire, Chief Arthur Eze has impounded some posh SUVs belonging to former Governor Andy Uba from his Aso Villa residence in Abuja over an unpaid interest-free loan of N50 million.

Details of when the loan was granted was not immediately available but the loan was granted through Arthur Eze’s Oranto Petroleum Limited.

The Punch reports that officials of the Execution Unit of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, working with officers of the Nigeria Police Force, on Tuesday, August 23, seized the vehicles over the unsettled loan.

GWG reports that Uba was a 17-day governor of Anambra State and was removed by the Supreme Court on June 14 on the claim that his election truncated the unfinished term of Mr Peter Obi.

The Punch in its report affirmed that the seizure follows the judgment of an Anambra State High Court delivered on March 6, 2017. The case was presided over by Justice Mbonu Nwenyi of the Aguata Judicial Division Ekwulobia.

According to the report the seized SUVs were impounded at Uba’s residence at No. 49 T.Y Danjuma Street, Asokoro, Abuja.

In his ruling, the judge held that Andy Uba as the defendant in the case had not denied receiving the friendly interest-free loan from Arthur Eze through the plaintiff, Oranto Petroleum.

The court further held that, having gone through the statement of defence of the defendant, the defendant had not disclosed any good defence to the suit and in such circumstance, the plaintiff was entitled to the judgment.

“The Plaintiff has sufficiently shown that she granted interest-free friendly loan to the defendant which has not been denied and since have not been repaid.

In the circumstances I enter judgment for the plaintiff in the sum of N50 million being refund of interest-free loan granted to the defendant by the plaintiff at the request of the defendant.”the report quoted Justice Mbonu as stating

The decision to execute the 2017 judgement by Arthur Eze against Andy Uba followed the a motion ex parte dated May 5, 2022, granted Oranto Petroleum and the reliefs it obtained to execute the judgment. The relief was granted by the FCT High Court on June 30, 2022 with the following reliefs:
