Fears For Abiodun After Mass Defections To PDP

The social media space at the beginning of the weekend expressing fears for Governor Dapo Abiodun over his second term aspirations after massive defections of party faithful to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

GWG had reported that associates of Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Segun Osoba within the All Progressives Congress, APC and including some of the governor’s former allies publicly defected to the PDP on Friday.

At least 5,000 members were said to have been received by the PDP.

GWG understands that the newly received members also came from APM, ADC & other associations who dumped their various parties to join the PDP.

The new members were welcomed to the party by the governorship candidate, Hon. (Dr.) Oladipupo Adebutu and his deputy, Hon Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade in Ogun State in a development some said were enough reasons for the incumbent governor, Dapo Abiodun to fear following the defections.

Besides the expressions of fear for the second term aspiration of Governor Dapo Abiodun upon the defections in Ogun State, GWG reports that Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, the National President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has revealed that only “quack and irrelevant universities would shun the ongoing strike and resume academic activities.

Osodeke made this known during a virtual interview on Arise TV, while reacting to reports of some branches of the union shunning the strike and resuming academic activities.

GWG reports that some universities have decided to stop the prolonged strike and return back to school.
