Two senior police intelligence officers, identified as Superintendent Francis Yisa and Assistant Superintendent John Kefas, have reportedly been kidnapped while travelling along the highway between Abuja and Kogi during the week.

GWG gathered that the officers were posted to Kogi on a critical investigation assignment when bandits abducted them on August 23.

A senior police chief who revealed that officers are now worried about the lives of their colleagues, said that Inspector-General Usman Baba Alkali was concerned about the situation but was worried about the development coming to the knowledge of the public.

“We cannot wait until something worse happens to colleagues before exposing this dangerous situation.”

Another officer, familiar with the police’s management of the situation, stated that the bandits had reached out with a demand for ransom.

“The bandits are demanding N30 million,” the officer said.
