Obi’s Supporters Concerned As Kwankwaso Shuts Maiduguri

Supporters of Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, Peter Obi are expressing fears over the large crowd that welcomed the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso during his visit to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

GWG understands that the NNPP Presidential candidate on Saturday, 27th August, commissioned the Borno State NNPP Headquarters in Abbaganaram, Shehuri North Maiduguri, Borno State.

Pictures and videos of Kwankwaso’s visit to the state captured large number of supporters on the streets to welcome the presidential candidate. There were reports of stampede in the area as movement became difficult for vehicles and other commuters.

Reacting to the videos and pictures that surfaced on social media, Nigerians via their handles aired their views on the possible threat of Kwankwaso to the aspiration of Peter Obi in his bid for the presidential seat.

Supporters of Peter Obi, known as Obidients expressed fear over the large Maiduguri crowd that welcomed Kwankwoso as many stated that he is a threat.

The threat from Kwankwaso to the prospects of Peter Obi in the presidential contest is coming against concerns by Labour Party activists on the limited chances of the party in the face of the opposition to his election.
