Senator John James Akpanudoedehe will visit 9 wards in three LGAs this week as part of his ongoing tour of the 329 wards in the state. The three LGAs are Orukanam, Ikot Abasi and Etinan.

Orukanam, Uyo, Mkpat Enin and Essien Udom are said to be huge voting centers.

This is the third week since the tour started on August 9 and so far, the NNPP candidate has visited over 40 wards and met with thousands of people including traditional rulers, NNPP members, supporters and voters from various political parties.

‘’The experience has been exhilarating and the support we’ve received from Akwa Ibom people has been overwhelming’’, said Chief Godwin Afangideh, Senator Udoedehe’s running mate on the NNPP ticket.

Senator Akpanudoedehe is the only governorship candidate that is crisscrossing the state on tour, moving from village to village to meet the voters, and talk to the people. The other candidates are seen only on billboards in Uyo, because they are bogged down by their legal and logistical problems.

Team Udoedehe is excited that its messages are well received by the people. ‘’We have the most relevant and most comprehensive social welfare programs specifically designed to address the myriads of problems that our people face’’, said Elder Inemesit Akpan, NNPP Chairman in the State.

‘’Our messages continue to resonate with our people and the fact that our candidate is a well-known brand in Akwa Ibom politics makes it easier for our people to receive us warmly everywhere we go’’, he added.

Many people are upbeat that NNPP is the party to beat in the polls next year. Over the weekend, I received a note from a PDP chieftain that read ‘’the election will be a straight fight between Udoedehe and OBA.

So far Udoedehe seems to be making waves’’. Buttressing this, another party chieftain, Surveyor Kufreh Eshiett, who is running for a House of Representatives seat in Uyo Federal Constituency, told this writer: ‘’Senator Udoedehe is a sociologist.

He knows Akwa Ibom people and their problems very well. His pledge to make available N1 million grant to each of 1,000 people in each LGA is the single most popular campaign promise in the history of Akwa Ibom State. People are calling me every day to ask about it’’.
