The singer was arraigned in court on a three-count charge bothering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out his statutory duties and abduction.

When the counts were read to him, the defendant pleaded not guilty.

Recall that the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Benjamin Hundeyin, had earlier disclosed how Ice Prince was stopped for driving without a license but later abducted and threatened the police officer.

“At 3 am today, Ice prince was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”

However, the Magistrate Taiwo Oyaniyi granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties.

Magistrate Taiwo also ordered that Ice Prince should be remanded at the Ikoyi custodial centre pending the fulfilment of his bail condition.

Thereafter, she adjourned the case till September 7.

This report has stirred massive reactions on social media as Nigerians aired their opinions on the matter but with the majority asking that Ice Prince should tell his side of the story.

While many opined that the singer should face the law for his actions, others insisted on hearing Ice Prince side of the story because of the trust deficit they have in the Nigeria Police.
