He said the 33-man contingent, led by the state Sports Commission’s Executive Chairman, Bola Mogaji, and Malam Shehu Gusau of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), arrived in Niamey around 6:25 p.m.

The team left Nigeria around 1.45 p.m. on an Air Cote-D’Ivoire Airbus, with a brief stopover in Abidjan.

The team is staying at the Hotel Tenere in Central Niamey, not far from the Stade General Senyi Kountche, where the match will be played on Sunday.

Kwara United will enter Sunday’s match with a 3-0 lead from the first leg.

According to the media officer, the Club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, reminded the players and technical staff to take the match seriously.

He praised Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his assistance to the team, promising that they would overcome the Niamey challenge.

Mogaji Delivers Gov’s Message

While delivering the Governor’s message, Head of Delegation Mallam Bola Mogaji told the players that they were the ambassadors of Nigeria and Kwara State in Niamey, Niger Republic.

“You are the ambassadors of our beloved country and state, Kwara.” Go to Niamey and complete the task you began in the first leg. With 3-0, you’ve made your job easier out there, but that doesn’t mean you can relax. To justify the large investment in the team, we must play well and win well.”, He said.
