Chinese lover Buhari charged

The Chinese lover of Umma Sani Buhari identified as Geng Quangrong has alleged that he was deceived by Umma who was his girlfriend and had promised to marry him but betrayed him even after he had spent so much money on her.

GWG had reported that Ms Buhari, a 23 year divorcee and member of the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC scheme was stabbed to death late on Friday by Geng after he laid a siege to her Kano residence.

According to information gathered by GWG, Deng alleged that he was provoked by the deception of Ms Umma Buhari and thus decided to attack and kill the deceases at her residence.

The police in Kano had confirmed the incident through its spokesman SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed that the suspect, Geng, 47, committed the crime on Friday after scaling the fence of the deceased residence to gain access where he stabbed her severally until she gave up the spirit.

Deng has since been transferred to the state headquarters at Bompai for further investigation and prosecution.

Meanwhile, the late Umma Sani Buhari was buried on Saturday morning in Kano.

GWG had quoted the mother of the deceased as confirming that her late daughter had a relationship with the suspect which, however, ran into foul waters.

She had said: “She was my daughter; he (the Chinese man) always comes around wanting to see her and she has been refusing. This time around when he came, he kept knocking on the door. When I was fed up of him hitting the door loudly, I opened the door and he pushed me aside and got in and started stabbing her with a knife.

“I started shouting and people came running. We rushed her to the hospital but before we arrived, she was dead. It happened around 9.30pm. We were at home with her two younger sisters when it happened. Her brother was out and her father is dead. It was raining then, people were indoors and couldn’t hear me shouting until when someone came and tried going in through the window.
