Untold Details Of How Labour Party Took Over APC Secretariat In Enugu
The Labour Party (LP) has taken over the Enugu State secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Enugu state bringing to bear the crisis that has pitched original stakeholders of the party with new entrants led by the new party chairman, Barrister Ugochukwu Agballah.
GWG.NG reports that the new chairman who is a veteran of former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governments in Enugu is also alleged to be working with a Southeast governor known to be very close to a former Northeast governor who recently lost his bid for the chairmanship of the party.
The emergence of Agballah as chairman of the APC in Enugu was viciously opposed by prominent party stakeholders including Senator Ken Nnamani, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Godfrey Onyema, director-general, Voice of Nigeria, VON, Mr Osita Okechukwu, former party chairman, Ben Nwoye among several others.
Many of them it was gathered had preferred Adolphus Udeh, but Agballah helped by the Southeast governor was able to push his way through.
Agballah who has been operating from the Southeast Zonal office it was gathered has cut ties to many of the foundation members and other prominent stakeholders who have refused to unbend in their opposition to him
Meanwhile, financiers of the APC who in the past had been paying the rent for the party secretariat at 126 Park Avenue, GRA Enugu it was gathered decided to keep off and hence the rent accumulated opening way for the landlord to repossess it and rent it to Labour Party.
