Keyamo Gives New Update On Tinubu

Hours after claiming ignorance on the health and whereabouts of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo has given an update following discussion with the candidate’s son, Seyi.

Keyamo, who is also the Minister of State of Labour and Productivity, gave the update during an appearance on Arise TV on Thursday morning.

Keyamo who disclosed that he spoke with the APC presidential candidate’s son, Seyi Tinubu on Thursday morning before coming to the live show, said he was assured that Tinubu was in good health.

Tasked on the secrecy behind the whereabouts of the candidate, Keyamo said that Tinubu was not bound to give update on his movements as he was not the president but still only a candidate.

Keyamo said, “He’s hale, hearty and healthy. He’s out of the country for a number of days. No controversy, about his whereabouts. And he’s not a president to issue statements as to his whereabouts.

“And I spoke with his son this morning. I spoke with Seyi and he said Asiwaju is fine. He was sleeping.”

GWG.NG reports that hours earlier on Wednesday night that Keyamo while asked to give an update on Tinubu and his health on a Channels Television interview, frankly admitted that he had not spoken with him.

The minister also dismissed arguments that the campaign was distracting him from his duties as a servant of the federal republic saying that his campaign activities were not distracting him in his job at the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
