Joke Silva Damns Critics, Celebrates Appointment As APC Committee Leader

Popular Nollywood Actress, Joke Silva has celebrated her appointment as the chairman of the creative and entertainment industries committee for the All Progressive Council (APC) women’s presidential campaign.

A spokesperson for the campaign Rinsola Abiola, who is also the daughter of late Moshood Abiola, released the list on Independence Day.

The campaign list contains names of 944 high-profile women and wives of prominent APC politicians.

GWG.NG reports that her appointment and acceptance to play a role in the re-election of the APC for another term raised a storm when it first got to the media causing her to lock comments on her Instagram account.

However, celebrating her APC appointment in an Instagram post on Friday, Joke Silva posted a throwback video of herself on her way to the women’s presidential campaign team inauguration.

She wrote: “Flashback to Monday…. on my way to the TINUBU/SHETTIMA Women Presidential Campaign Team inauguration.

“I am honoured to have been appointed as Chairman of the Creative and Entertainment Industries Committee. It is a monumental privilege to be in such a position considering the ever-growing prominence and influence of Nigeria’s creative sector. With so much excitement, I am already envisaging the unprecedented feats that we will achieve together as a people in Nigeria’s creative economy. Come with me! Cheers!”

In the 70-page campaign document, no fewer than 33 Nollywood and Kannywood actors were enlisted for entertainment.

They included veteran thespians such as Fausat Balogun, Remi Oshodi, Mercy Johnson, Rose Odika, Sola Kosoko, Lanre Hassan (Iya Awero) Hajiya Nas, Lizzy Jay (Omo Ibadan), Princess Kalihat Bello among others.
