Major Abuja Landmark, Jabi Lake Mall Shut Over Terror Threat

One of the major tourist landmarks in Abuja, the upscale Jabi Lake Mall has been shut down following the elevated terror threat in the Federal Capital Territory.

The management of the shopping mall announced the shut down of the shopping mall in a statement issued on its Instagram page.

GWG.NG reports that the Jabi Lake Mall which is listed as a major landmark in Abuja by the international tourist organisation Trip Advisor is reputed to have more than 120 elegant stores in its sprawling environment beside the Jabi Lake in Abuja.

In a statement announcing the shut down, the management of Jabi Lake Mall said:

“Jabi Lake Mall will be closed today, Thursday, 27 October 2022. This decision has been taken in the overall interest of the safety of all staff and customers of the mall.

“Centre Management is committed to minimising any disruptions; however, the safety of our staff and shoppers remains our highest priority.

“Management is constantly reviewing the security situation in consultation with relevant security authorities and will inform you when the mall will be re-opened.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope to provide you with a quality shopping experience soon”.

The development leading to the shut down of the Jabi Lake Mall follows the advisory given by the United States Embassy asking non-essential staff to depart the country.
