Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, is eating his last loaf of bread in the Senate, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Buba Galadima said on Thursday after the former Kano State governor flew the kite of jettisoning the BVAS method for elections in 2023.

Galadima  stated this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.

GWG.NG reports that Senator Gaya, a former governor of Kano State and who was first elected to the Senate in 2007 is seeking an unprecedented fifth term in 2023 on the platform of the APC as senator representing Kano South Constituency.

Speaking on Channels Television, Galadima said: “Listen to Senator Kabiru Gaya, who recently was on a national television telling the world that INEC must be given an alternative either to use or not to use BVAS because in his own constituency, Gaya, which is in the middle of Kano State, there is no network to transmit results.

“He is only preparing grounds for what they have designed, because they know this election they have lost. He in particular is eating his last loaf of bread in the Senate.”

Galadima said the Independent National Electoral Commission was under extensive pressure not to use Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for the 2023 general elections.

“I appeal to the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to take note of some bad elements that want to smear his image when he leaves office,” he added.

GWG.NG reports that Senator Gaya is pitched a former Senior Special Assistant to the president Sumaila Kawu (NNPP) among others in the contest for the Kano South ticket.
