PDP governorship candidate for Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori has labelled Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as the worst Deputy Senate President (DSP) in the history of Nigeria just as the two immediate past governors of the state, Chief James Ibori and Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan led the boycott of the inauguration of the PDP governorship campaign council.

The outgoing governor of the state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa at the epoch event, however, admitted the continuing crisis in the state chapter of the party that was also highlighted by the boycott of Senator James Manager, seen as the bridge builder between Okowa and Ibori.

Also absent were Chief David Edevbie, the preferred choice of Ibori as a successor and the man who was in the past been hailed as state leader of the PDP, Senator Ighoyota Amori.

Noting that issues were yet to be settled amid his hope for peace, Senator Okowa who is also the PDP vice-presidential candidate said:

“Yes, there are issues in PDP Delta state and we will settle it and PDP will come out stronger and united.

“I want to appeal to the aspirants to embrace all and do the one you can to support your brother because there is always a tomorrow. In 2006, I ran for governor but didn’t get it but I supported the person and today I’m a governor.

“Our campaign will go through 270 wards that’s where our votes will come from. My politics is based on issue and I don’t insult people in the course of my politicking.

“Those that said I have not done anything in Delta state are locked up in Abuja, maybe from Delta but locked up in Abuja.”

In his remark, the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and flag bearer of the party, Sheriff Oborevwori, thanked Okowa for standing and believing in him.

The party flagbearer, Oborevwori despite the absence of the notable personalities said the party had come out stronger and united and said that Okowa’s achievements had made his work simpler.

Lambasting the APC governorship candidate, Senator Omo-Agege, Oborevwori described him as the “worst” Deputy Senate President, DSP in the history of Nigeria.

The state Chairman of the party, Mr. Kingsley Esiso, who inaugurated the council said the ceremony was to kick start the campaign to produce a new governor in the state.

He also hit Omo-Agege over the condition of federal roads in Delta, adding that he never attracted one good road to the state.

He said that APC led government has done damage in Nigeria as food stuffs had skyrocketed in the country.
