Gunmen Kill Villagers In Fresh Plateau Attack

At least 11 villagers have been reportedly killed in Maikatako community of Butura District in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State by gunmen.

GwG.ng gathered that the gunmen came at about 1am on Wednesday and began shooting continuously and burning houses of villagers in Plateau.

Many people were also said to be injured in the attack apart from those killed and the houses razed down.

A native of the community, Daniel Isah, said residents were still trying to ascertain the exact figures and the identities of those who lost their lives, adding that the victims were burnt beyond recognition.

“So far, about 11 persons are dead,” he added.

He also said the attackers retuned to the community at about 8:00 am and began shooting. He said there was yet to be any counter attack from security operatives.

Calls put to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, indicated his line was busy and he had not responded to a text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.
