Intrigues As Tinubu’s Men Shift Buhari Visit To Kano

Nigerians were weighing on Saturday after it emerged that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje had written President Muhammadu Buhari to shift his visit to Kano State on account of alleged despair by the populace over the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

The decision to ask the president to shift the visit was reportedly endorsed by some of the leading stakeholders in the state.

However, the decision has not found support among twitter users many of whom saw it as a blackmail against the president and the naira redesign policy.

GWG.ng reports that Governor Ganduje is a strong ally of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who had earlier criticized the policy as being worked out to frustrate his aspiration.

One of his leading rivals, Atiku Abubakar, the PDP candidate has also mocked Tinubu and the APC for criticizing the government’s policy because according to him, it would frustrate their ability to buy votes. GWG.ng, however, is unable to confirm that the Tinubu campaign has a plan to buy votes as alleged by the Atiku team.

However, on twitter on Saturday many were seeing the decision to cut off the Buhari visit as a political weapon indirectly framed by the Tinubu supporters in Kano to blackmail the government to cancel the policy. GWG.ng also cannot confirm if there is any such decision by Governor Ganduje who is also a close associate of the president. Governor Ganduje has repeatedly demonstrated his affinity with President Buhari going to the extent of breaking relations with his former ally, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso to show his love for Buhari.
