Neither President Muhammadu Buhari nor his immediate aides will reply Governor Nasir El-Rufai on his latest vituperation concerning the perceived poor leadership qualities around the outgoing president.

Aso Rock sources told GWG.ng that the assertions of the Kaduna State governor were not surprising as they had for long been expected.

It was further gathered that besides El-Rufai, that a number of other All Progressives Congress, APC governors are also expected to follow the Kaduna State governor in expressing rebellion against the outgoing governor.

GWG.ng reports that Governor El-Rufai had in an interview with Premium Times claimed that he no longer believes in the quality of leadership espoused by President Buhari.

“I believe in Buhari, I still do and I will never stop, but I no longer believe in the circle around him and the quality of decisions and actions coming out of that leadership,” El-Rufai said.

However, responding to the development, a highly placed source in the Presidential Villa averred that President Buhari would not reply El-Rufai over the leadership comment.

“We will not reply El-Rufai as he has only exposed himself for what he is and Nigerians are now seeing him for who he is.

“Is it not the same thing that he did to Obasanjo, Atiku, Yar`Adua? He is just following along with his way of life.

“In fact, we are not shocked because we had expected this since after the 2019 election when we started hearing that if he doesn’t have his way that he would do this kind of thing.

“He has seen a new leader to follow and we do not begrudge him for his choice but the Tinubu he is now following would be able to see the kind of person he is,” the source said.

“I can assure you that the president is not shocked with this development, certainly not,” the source averred.

He added that more personalities are expected to come out to follow the path being treaded by the Kaduna State governor.

GWG.ng reports that Governor El-Rufai had in his disavowal of the leadership of Buhari along with two other governors dragged the Federal Government to court over the naira redesign policy.
