President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday flew out of Nigeria amidst the scarcity of naira notes to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Recall that a few hours ago, President Buhari addressed the nation and stated that 200 naira notes will be released and allowed to remain a legal tender for 60 days to ease scarcity.

According to the report, President Buhari will be participating in the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union, AU.

The theme of the AU Summit is “Acceleration of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Implementation.”

Prez Buhari will participate in three “High-level meetings on peace and security, climate change and the political situation in some West African countries.”

Garba Shehu in a press statement on Thursday morning said that the first meeting of President Buhari is the Peace and Security Council (PSC) meeting of Heads of State and Government on the situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (AUPSC High-Level AU) which will be chaired by the President of South Africa.

Also, the second is the meeting of the Committee of the Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC), currently chaired by the President of the Niger Republic.
