INEC PVCs hunter
Victor Aluko, charges hunters to focus on hunting rabbits and antelopes and not PVCs

The director of voter education and publicity of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mr Victor Aluko has dismissed the discovery of PVCs in Anambra forests supposedly by hunters, who he asserted should be hunting antelopes and rabbits and not finding PVCs.

Mr Aluko spoke on The Good Morning Show on Arise News on Friday morning following the discovery of hundreds of PVCs in Nnewi forests allegedly by a hunter.

The bag of PVCs were taken to a radio station in Nnewi from where many have come to pick their PVCs.

Mr Aluko also dismissed calls for the removal of Mr Segun Agbaje as the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC in Lagos insisting that the man is doing a good job despite protests against his neutrality.

Reacting to the discovery of PVCs, he said:

“We have been seeing fantastic stories in the media, we believe that if anybody finds that, that the person should report to the police. We believe that all those postings in the social media are like fantasies and they are distractions and at this particular time, less than 24 hours to the General Election when INEC is already deploying and by tomorrow morning

“Our minds are focused on opening our polling units tomorrow and we don’t want to be distracted by fantastic stories about PVCs discovered in forests by hunters who are supposed to be hunting antelopes and rabbits. Hunters should hunt their antelopes and let us have our peace.

“Hunters should hunt antelopes and rabbits and let us conduct our election in peace,” the INEC official said in dismissing the claim on the discovery of a pack of PVCs in the forest of Nnewi.
