Guber Elections: Laura Ikeji Sends Crucial Message To Lagosians

As Lagosians prepare for the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections, popular social media influencer, Laura Ikeji, has advised citizens to be cautious and vigilant while exercising their franchise.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, the mother of two urged voters to go to their polling units peacefully and avoid any form of violence or disorderliness. She also warned against people who might attempt to influence their voting decisions, adding that they should not allow anyone to use them for selfish gains.

“Saturday’s election is a crucial one,” she said. “You have to be careful. Go to your polling unit in peace and orderliness. Vote for the right man or right candidate for the job.”

Ikeji further emphasized that there would be individuals present who might try to gaslight voters, telling them who to vote for and who not to vote for. She cautioned against falling for such schemes and encouraged people to trust their instincts and choose the candidate they believe is best for the job.

“Some people are going to say, hey, this is my Lagos, who are you to vote someone else?” she warned. “There will be some tribalistic bigots waiting for you to mess up. Don’t let the devil use you. Go there and vote in peace, do not listen to anybody. You know the right person for the job. If they start messing with you, go home. If you have a peaceful polling unit, wait till your vote is counted.”
