Nollywood actress Lilian Esoro has spoken out about the peaceful atmosphere at her polling unit in the ongoing general elections in Nigeria.

In a post shared on her social media handle, she noted that while her unit has been calm, she has been receiving reports of unrest in other polling units across the country.

Esoro called on all Nigerians to shun violence and embrace peaceful coexistence, emphasizing that the country does not need another war, tribal or otherwise.

She urged voters to exercise their civic duty by casting their votes without resorting to violence or intimidation.

The actress also stressed the need for unity, noting that despite the diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds of Nigerians, they are all one people and must work together for the common good of the country.

She called on all stakeholders, including political parties, candidates, and election observers, to prioritize the peace and stability of the country above their personal ambitions.

She wrote:

“So far my unit has been peaceful But sadly been hearing and seeing some units aren’t. Violence isn’t the way to a new Nigeria. Vote not Fight. This isn’t a tribal war! We are one! Together we can. Please be safe out there.”
