2023 Nigeria Decides

INEC, Prof Yakubu, Give Us A President-Elect, Not A President-Select

Ugokings writing from Lagos reviews the recent presidential election and asserts that INEC chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu gave Nigeria a president-select and not a president-elect.

Couple of times that I logged into the iREV portal, went straight to my Polling Unit and saw different versions of results that were uploaded for each of those times that I logged in, I wondered how Prof. Mahmood Yakubu lies down in the night and sleeps peacefully… I doubt if he does.

I have no misgivings that satan himself will be greatly astonished, jolted into the utmost perplexity, with mouth agape, and his two hands held firmly on his chest (as if he’s feeling excruciating pains imminent to a heart attack), at the level of wickedness Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has unleashed on Nigerians.

One can easily imagine satan saying; ‘haba Mahmood this one is too much naa, even me, I can’t do this to these people’.

In other countries, Professors are revered people of integrity, but in Nigeria, they’ve become immodest people without integrity who do the biddings of illiterate Politicians, religious and ethnic Bigots, and drug Barons.

It has become a worrisome issue how Nigeria’s electoral body has been infiltrated and seems to have made a life pact with such Professors, that even one of them seats at the highest echelon as the electoral Umpire.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) that’s saddled with the responsibility of conducting free, fair, transparent and credible elections, to give hope to Nigerians, has turned into the nocturnal terror that frightened the Citizens to their wits-end, robbed them of their future and a new Nigeria, which they’ve viewed through the prism of hope, that they have against all odds, struggled to hold strongly onto for seven years and nine months till the 25th day of February, 2023.

It’s quite understandable, forgivable and easily dismissible when a mad man takes an oath and reneges, than for a Professor to renege on his several assurances of free, fair, transparent and credible elections given to the Citizens.

The February 25th, 2023 Presidential election was an opportunity for Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to write his name in the sands of time, for posterity to judge him fairly and imprint his name on the tabloids of gold, but he rather chose otherwise to subvert the wishes of Nigerians, thereby insulting the collective sensibility of hundreds of millions of Nigerians.

For a Professor, who has chosen to condescend as such, one would have expected him to at least do a neat job, but no, he couldn’t. Results from States in far North were uploaded for States in the South. An illiterate bicycle Repairer could have done better.

It became obvious and so glaring that International Observers rated the elections below par; one that didn’t meet and satisfy the constitutional requirements for free, fair, transparent and credible elections, yet Nigerian Politicians, especially those of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) extraction who have benefitted largely from the corruption and corrupt system that has destroyed this country have continued to argue blindly and unintelligibly that it is the freest and fairest election ever held in Nigeria, and as such they glee in such orgasm aroused by a fraudulent victory that was awarded to them by a subsidiary of the corrupt system in the INEC.

The haste with which Prof. Mahmood Yakubu announced the presidential election result at night while Nigerians were still asleep and declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling APC, the Winner leaves a lot to be desired. Despite all the flaws of the election, the concerns raised by the Opposition Parties, the INEC Professor went ahead and imposed a *President-select* on Nigerians. In fact A Mahmood Yakubu-led INEC prematurely ejaculated *President-select*

The Holy Bible has this to say;

 *_But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way_* – Matt. 13:25

Even if you are not a Christian and as such do not believe in the Holy Bible, you can at least be able to draw this logical inference that questions thus;

Could Prof. Mahmood Yakubu be the enemy of Nigeria’s democracy that came and imposed a ‘President-select’ on us while Nigerians were asleep and went his way, instead of announcing and declaring the ‘President-elect’?

If this rigging continues unabated, INEC Officials not checked and stopped now, we’ll end up having so many *Governors-select* and *State Assembly members-select*.

If this sham arranged by INEC and supervised by Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, with about N400bn of taxpayers money on the 25th of February, 2023 is allowed, I can assure Nigerians that a time is coming, very soon, when there’ll be no arranged sham either, but a handpicking of people for President down to Councillors. This selection won’t be on merit either, but by the highest Bidder.
