Clash of Literary Titans: INEC Not Labour Party's Baba-Ahmed Deserved To Be Called Fascist, Adichie Tells Soyinka

The camp of Atiku Abubakar, has waded into the controversy arising from the call by Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka for a debate with Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party vice-presidential candidate with a call on the literary guru to rather choose a debate with fellow literary icon, Chimamanda Adichie.

GWG.ng reports that Soyinka in slamming what he described as the fascism of the supporters of Obi while remonstrating with Baba-Ahmed over his opposition to the inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as president upon perceived constitutional issues had invited Obi’s running mate to a debate.

While the Labour Party had initially claimed that Baba-Ahmed or even the least of Obidients would square off with Soyinka, the party latter came out to denounce the invitation as a folly from the literary giant who they accused of keeping mum to the ethnic profiling, killings and other malpractises that characterized the election particularly in Lagos.

Reacting in its first formal intervention on the issue, the camp of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate through spokesman Daniel Bwala has told Soyinka to rather debate Chimamanda Adichie, another literary guru who has thrown full support for Obi.

GWG.ng reports that Adichie has etched her self as a literary icon with some major literary offerings that have garnered over 10 doctorate degrees from some of the leading universities in the United States and Europe.

Reacting, Daniel Bwala said that Soyinka is not a politician, therefore he should not be debate with Datti but rather a literary personality like Chimamanda Adichie
