Nigerian Feminists Mum As Men Hail Footballer Who Hid €70m Assets In Mother’s Name

Nigerian men were on Friday hailing Moroccan footballer, Achraf Hakimi, 24 after it emerged that most of his assets estimated at 70 million euros were lodged in the name of his mother leaving his divorce seeking wife, Hiba Abouk, 36 with practically nothing.

GWG.ng had reported that their marriage ran into stormy waters after the PSG defender who earns one million euros monthly was accused of rape a month ago. The wife apparently wanting to cash out had filed for divorce with a claim of more than half of his assets.

It was, however, discovered that nearly all the assets of the footballer were registered in the name of the mother who periodically distills to Hakimi.

The move has been hailed by many on social media noting that some other African footballers had been brought to penury after making choking divorce settlements.

There are, however, others who say that marriage should be entered into on the basis of trust with openness and mutual respect.

GWG.ng gathered some of the reactions that showed that while many otherwise feminists were mum, many men were hailing Achraf Hakimi for keeping his money with his mother instead of his wife:

Achraf Hakimi used two factors authentication to protect his assets. Man cheated, got caught, wife filed for a divorce and she end up getting none of his assets.
