Delta Commissioner Explains How He Escaped Kidnap
Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, has opened up on how he nhe narrowly escaped a kidnap attempt directed at him.
The commissioner disclosed in a post on his Facebook page on Monday that the incident occurred on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. on his way to the state capital.
Amgbaduba said the abductors blocked his car, along the Nigerian Port Authority Expressway in their efforts to kidnap him.
“A beige-coloured Toyota Camry rammed into me and forced my vehicle to come to a halt and two hefty young men popped out from the front seat of the car, one at the back and one guy rushing towards me,” Amgbaduba said.
“Without panicking, I put my car in reverse and faced the thug that came out from the passenger side of the car at full speed ahead. While he jumped off the road, I drove off and had a successful getaway.”
He, however, urged motorists to be vigilant, especially along the Warri axis.
Meanwhile, besides the news of how the Delta State Commissioner escaped a kidnap attempt, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the closing date for the 2023 Direct Entry (DE) registration by one week.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday by the board’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, after the board’s management meeting.
Benjamin said that the DE registration exercise, which commenced on Monday, March 20, 2023, and billed to end on Thursday, April 20, 2023, had been extended by one week starting from Friday, April 21, 2023.
