A Kogi State High Court in Okene has sentenced a fake pastor, Peter Micheal Michonza, to eight years in prison for running an illegal medical facility in Okene Local Government Area of the state.

Hon. Justice Abdullahi Umar delivered the decision in Okene on Tuesday, April 25.

Pregnant women and young girls died as a result of Peter Michael Michonza’s unlawful psychiatric home, which he ran and camped out young women.

The Okene Local Government Chairman, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad, responded to the court decision by praising the judiciary for upholding the law and purging society of evils and crimes committed by men who occasionally pretended to be engaged in religious and humanitarian work.

The head of the Council cautioned the people, especially the youth, to learn from this and always engage in lawful and productive endeavors and warned them that religious houses are not licensed to diagnose or carry out any sort of medical treatment.
