A 13-year-old boy has been detained on suspicion of fatally shooting a man on Easter Sunday. On April 9, Jayden Gunsby was named as a suspect in the shooting death of 20-year-old Davaris Lindsey.

Police discovered Lindsey in LaGrange, Georgia, close to McGregor and Colquitt Streets with multiple gunshot wounds. After being taken to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, Lindsey passed away. Gunsby was served with an arrest warrant on April 12.

The LaGrange Police Department at the time said on Facebook, “This warrant charges Gunsby as an adult due to the offense being a murder charge.” Around 11.15 p.m. on Monday, April 24, Gunsby was taken into custody at the police station.

“We got a call from the family. It was orderly,” Mike Merideth of the NAACP chapter told Channel 2. “There was a lot of emotions and a lot of family support. I know they were familiar with each other. Their exact relationship I can’t really comment on at this time, but they were familiar,” police Lt Mark Cavender told the TV station. “We know there are other parties involved in this.”
