The fate of the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, Tonye Cole was in suspense on Friday after the party’s incoming leader and president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu reconciled two of his notable foes who had been at war with one another, Magnus Abe and Nyesom Wike.

GWG.ng reports that besides openly praising Governor Nyesom Wike as a notable collaborator to his success, that Tinubu at the end of his two day visit to Rivers State reconciled the governor and another foe, Senator Magnus Abe. That puts Tonye Cole alone in a possible collaboration between Wike and Abe.

Abe, Wike and Cole all of whom came out of the political family of immediate past governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi were until Thursday at daggers-drawn with one another in a three-faced conflict.

However, Abe and Wike were on Thursday reconciled as Tinubu ended his visit to Rivers State leaving Cole, who ordinarily should be the president-elect’s closest collaborator in Rivers State in suspense.

Tonye Cole who claims a relationship with Tinubu from childhood did not meet with the president-elect during his visit that was orchestrated by Governor Wike, with a view some of his critics claim, to spite his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

GWG.ng reports that Abe who was an official mobiliser for Tinubu in Rivers State, left the APC for the Social Democratic Party, SDP to enable him contest the governorship election. Abe’s exit from the APC was upon his grudges with Amaechi who he alleged foisted Cole as the party’s candidate in Rivers State.

Wike and Abe meanwhile, had managed themselves for years until early 2023 when Abe came out with serial allegations of electoral malfeasances by the governor. He has alleged that several of his supporters were bludgeoned by agents of the state government.

However, before he left Port-Harcourt on Thursday, Tinubu settled Wike and Abe, a development that has now left Tonye Cole in the lurch.

The reconciliation was made known by twitter user @Topboychriss.
