Seun Kuti: Twist To Policeman Slapping Saga As New Video Trends

A video of musician Seun Kuti, boasting of slapping policemen in the past on account of his heritage has surfaced bringing a new twist to the saga of his encounter with a policeman on Third Mainland Bridge at the weekend.

The new video which was trending on twitter on Sunday night is a new twist to the assault case against the musician that has gotten many talking.

It is, however, not known when the video was made but it was shared on twitter by a user.

“Some of una police go slap una, una go come Instagram to explain. You know how many police I don tear slap?” he asked in pidgin.

“They say because you be Fela pikin. You no know say na because Jesus be God pikin e fit die for you? You must know who you are before you make your move. So, I make my move because I know who I am…,”

GWG.ng had earlier reported that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, had ordered the arrest of the musician after the video of him assaulting a policeman on Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos came to light.

The musician had in response claimed that the policeman was a threat to himself and his family on the road.

Kuti said: “He tried to kill me and my family. I have the proof but I no dey chase clout. He has apologized and I have agreed not to press charges. Make una mind una business make the poor guy no lose him job.”

Also responding to the IGP’s order to arrest him over the slapping video, Seun Kuti said:

“I welcome the investigation and will give my full cooperation! I also pray to the IG that whoever is wrong should be indicted,” he wrote.

GWG.ng had also reported that Femi Falana, a famous friend of the musician’s father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti is set to defend him.

Meanwhile, the new video of Seun Kuti boasting of slapping policemen in the past has gotten many more people talking.
