Abducted Chinese Rescued In Abia

A Chinese national who had been kidnapped in Abia State has been rescued, according to the State Police command. ASP Maureen Chinaka, the command’s public relations officer, confirmed the announcement on Wednesday.

He reported that Mr. Li Peiyin, a Chinese national who was kidnapped on May 31, was found on Monday by a combined security team and was in good health.

When he was taken hostage, Peiyin, the site manager of a quarry in Lokpanta, Umunneochi Local Government Area, was operating a Caterpillar without a security escort. According to Chinaka, the joint security team has been actively looking for the kidnappers.
