Stakeholders in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State have commended the State Governor, Barrister Caleb Muftwang over the gradual return of peace to the affected areas of the state gripped by the activities of bandits.

Speaking in interviews with Arise TV Network, the stakeholders, however, called on the state government to remain focused on its principal agenda towards ensuring that the government regains the momentum that was lost during the past regime.

GWG.ng reports that since the announcement of the victory of Mutfwang over his APC-backed challenger that unexplained attacks perpetrated by unknown gunmen have terrorized Mangu which is also the governor’s home LGA.

Some stakeholders including some housed in IDP camps, commended what they described as the momentum towards peace that has been noticed on the plateau in the last few days.

One of those who spoke, was Manji Daniel, chairman Magawvul Development Association, Youth Wing who while observing the actions of the administration said:

“We really want to appreciate the present governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang because he is just a month and some days in office but with his coming we have seen a response.

Chairman of the Mangu Interim Management Committee, Markus Atsu, speaking in the same vein spoke of the humanitarian interventions by the government which he said had brought some succor to the people in the 11 IDPs camps in the LGA.
